Founded October 14, 1837.  A Charter Congregation of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.

The Reverend John H. Hamer graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in 1966 and 1969. He served as a public high school band director in three Indiana high schools over the next twelve year period.

In 1978, he entered Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne to begin studies for the holy ministry, graduating in 1982 with a Master of Divinity Degree. He was called to St. Paul's Lutheran Church as Assistant Pastor. Ten years later, he was named Associate Pastor.

Pastor Hamer is married to Gloria (Johnson) Hamer. They have two children. Amy lives in Fort Wayne. Brian is a Pastor in the Missouri Synod, serving Christ the King Lutheran Church in Riverview, Florida. Gloria is a free lance writer and accomplished pianist.

Pastor Hamer has served on the Indiana District Evangelism Board.
